Holiday Hours

I can hardly believe that holidays are here and we are only 10 short days away from Christmas. WOW.

These will be our hours for those of you who may be traveling to our neck of the woods for your Holiday Traditions.

December 24th- Christmas Eve. we will close at 1pm.

December 25th- Christmas- CLOSED.

December 30th-January 1st 2012 CLOSED.

We will also be Closed the Week of January 2nd-January 6th for INVENTORY.


Therefore we will be having a:


PRE-INVENTORY STOREWIDE SALE:

Please don't make us count every single piece of paper!

We will be having an ENTIRE Storewide sale of 50%-70% the entire stock.

Save the Date!



We are very excited to welcome

Suzzanne Dean!


Suzanne has been using and teaching how to color with Copics for 3.5 years and she runs a successful Online Copic/Art Classroom called Color Me Creative!
For the past 1.5 years she has taken her classes on the road throughout the US and Canada!
She is also a freelance designer for many craft companies around the world and is co-owner of the craft magazine “Through the Craftroom Door”


We are very excited that Suzzanne will be offering two classes with us here on Saturday February 25th!


Beginner/Intermediate Class: 9am-2:30pm
You will learn how to get comfortable with the markers, learn light sourcing, shading and highlighting along with other practical techniques to bring your coloring to life!
5 hours for $90.00 (35 minute break)

*briefly learn about the basics of Copics and how they work/tips and tricks
*get comfortable with the markers and laying down color lightly
*Learn hwo to "f-l-i-c-k" layer/blend colors
*choosing successful color combos and layer colors
*learn about light sources and how to create dimension in your coloring
*shading and highlighting techniques (light and shadow)
*creating good skin tone and hair colors
*shading round objects
*coloring white
*Bridging colors
*multi liner pens & Spica pens
*colorless blender techniques/Review
*And lots more coloring techniques

Advanced Class: 3:15pm-7:15pm
We go over a lot of fun but more difficult techniques- You MUST have experience using your markers and be ready for advanced techniques. If you take the Basic/Interm. Class you WILL be ready for this class! You must know the BASICS because I will not repeat those lessons in the Advanced Class!
We will learn all about advanced shading and coloring techniques and fun ways to use your Copics. Both classes are HANDS ON INSTRUCTION!
4 hours for $80,00 (35 minute break)

*coloring with reds and black (the most difficult to blend)
*advance hair coloring
*glassy objects, round objects
*feathering and background techniques
*coloring textured items
*metallics
*coloring folds, pleats, ruffles, with light sourcing
*high contrast coloring
*intro to airbrushing

**Copics and images/paper provided
**(a supply list will be emailed to students so you can bring your own copics if you would like.
**All Students receive a packet of information pertaining to each class.
**All students receive a goody bag from the Color Me Creative Classroom with sample products.
**Students need to bring their own drinks and snacks (and/or lunch)

Jen Starr Highlights!

We had alot of inky fun with Jen Starr this visit! Not only did the girls get inky, but they also learned a cool new bleaching technique!

Jen Starr Returns

Monday October 17th
Class #1:
Time: 1pm-4pm
Cost: $45.00



This comfortably distressed 6x9 mini-book will be created with a mix of fun materials and media including denim, corrugated cardboard, chipboard, draft paper, Basic Grey's new "Out of Print" line, burlap, Crafters's Workshop Templates, embellishments, made from Tim Holtz dies and texture fades, a little paint and a lots more.....
During the creative process, we will concentrate on techniques using Tim's new DISTRESS STAINS, creating some interactive elements plus some fun and unique stamping techniques.....Oh, and just wait untill you see how we re going to distress the denim!!

By the end of the class you will have a great chunky book brimming with techniques!
**Note** Please wear old clothes as we will be incorporating bleach in to some of the techniques!!

Time: 5pm-8pm
Cost: $45.00



Take your creativity up a few notches with this little book that packs a punch with all of the techniques you will learn!

You will consturct this chubby little mini-book from a Tim Holtz Die but we will be focusing on an easy stitched book binding technique and working with Distress Stains in a variety of ways! Plus we will mix in some Idea-ology embellishments, Sticky Back Canvas, and my favorite Basic Grey Paper, Tim's Stamps from Stampers Anonymous, Texture Fades, Fabric, Stickles, and put it all together to make a fabulous little book ready for you to scrap or add your art journaling!

They say the best things come in small packages and this is NO exception....the ideas and techniques in this class will have your mind imaging all of the things you will be able to create next!!

**Note** Title and words in the charms are optional and you will have choices in class.

**Please bring a variety of adhesives including something strong such as Glossy Accents or Multi medium, scissors, pencil, tapestry needle if you have one, paper trimmer and an awl or something to poke small holes with!

Busy, Busy Little Bees!






That we have been here at the shop! I have had the pleasure to be able to create hand in hand with one of our favorite vendors! Pam, at Heart of Texas Studio's has been amazing at working with me! I have had great amounts of fun designing these adorable mini albums for her! She is going to be showcasing them at the Collins Expo in Texas come October! I am super excited to have my work shown!

These are just a few of my creations using some of the new product lines by Heart of Texas along with the new halloween, christmas, and school papers that we have in stock here at the shop!

Copics, Color That’s Hot Hot Hot!
Heat up your projects with Copic coloring. This hands-on class will focus on basic blending techniques along with unraveling the secrets of the colorless blender marker. You will have plenty of time to play as you use these techniques to create 2 cards featuring stamped images from some of the most popular stamp companies around.
Class fee includes: Instruction, cardstock for blending practice, stamped images, complete supplies for creating the cards and access to sketch markers for the duration of the class.
Please bring: Basic class kit – cutting tool or scissors and adhesive of your choice. If you would like to bring your own markers, please make sure they are labeled with your name.
Class times will be:
10:30 am-12:30 pm Copics, Color, That's Hot Hot Hot 1
12:30-1:30- Book Signing (Free)
2:00pm-4:00pm- Copics, Color That's Hot Hot Hot 2
Class Fee will be $35.00 per class


Class 1:


This class is geared toward the easy/intermediate techniques using your Copic Markers. In this class you will learn blasic blending in a large area, and the flicking technique. You will also color smaller areas using your black and red markers, which tend to be a little harder to use. In this class you will also work on some skin tones.


Reccomended markers are: R22, R24, NO, N2, N4, and N6. Y11, Y17,


Card 2: B21, B23, B26, G12, G14, G16, and YG11, YG13, YG17.


Class 2:


2:00pm-4:00pm


This class will be geared more for the intermediate/difficult coloring. In this class you will learn how to work with blending and coloring in a more difficult area. Each Card will be using blues, and also some red.


Card 1 Recommended colors:


E21, E93, B21, B23, B26, YG11, G12, G14, G16


Card 2: E21, E25, E27, R22, R24, R29, B21, B23, B26, Y11, Y15, Y17.


You will also be learning how to tone down your colors with your grays: N0, and N02

New Arrivals!


We have been super busy around here! We have been receiving new products! We are very excited to FINALLY have our Copic Tower here! That's right our Copic Tower! We are your Copic Super Store! We have every single sketch marker that Copic has out, and we have the refills! Stop in and let us refill your pen for $3.00 OR buy the refill for $7.49.


Remember: Starting August 1st. Copic has to increase the dollar amount of thier pens, so make sure you stop in and stock up on the markers that you NEED before the price increase! If there is something special you need let us know before the price increase and we will do our best to get in for you!



We are also excited about the THREE new Bo Bunny Lines that we received in last week! They have been flying off the shelves so make sure you get in and get the gettin while its GOOD!

Whew.....SO tired!

Wow, I cannot believe we are already in the 4th day of the month, and My BIG birthday is tomorrow. 30. I know some of you say I am still a baby, (I am a heart) but I am really having a difficult time with this..... I'm not sure why, but I am.

As, mom and I were looking over the May Calendar in walked these beautiful roses this morning
I may not have the most romantic husband, but I sure do feel loved!



So, we just finished up our National Scrapbook Day Celebration last weekend at the Trianon here in Bonita Springs, it was beautiful! The croppers were great, we all got along, had a good time together, and ate lots of goodness!

We had such a great response to the 3 day crop that we have our next one planned for Friday August 12, 13, and 14th. We have the ball room reserved again at the Trianon. The Crop will be $100.00 and will include Dinner Friday Night, Dinner Saturday Night, and lunch on Sunday. Rooms will be available at the Trianon again for those who would like to stay there. We are now taking reservations, and can hold 40 people comfortably, we expect space to fill up quickly, so if you would like to guarantee yourself a spot, please call with a 50% deposit to hold your spot!

Here is a picture of our finalist. We had a tie for the 3rd place prize! Congrats to you all for your hard work. 3rd place winners received a gift from Basic Grey, 2nd place winner received the entire winter releases from Basic Grey, and our WINNER Connie Minor, who designed her birdhouse as a wedding chapel, and the bride and groom being "owls" received a prize pack from Basic Grey, a BO Bunny Purse, AND is coming to our crop in August for FREE!

I have to say this was a fun contest and we are already shopping for the August crop contest!
