Suzanne Dean.....a little LOVE left behind!

Suzanne Dean left us a little Love on our wall of "fame" here at the shop before she left! This is her with the image she stamped and colored on our wall. She was sure to let us know that the wall didn't do justice for her blending! lol. All is good! We love it anyway!

This next picture is of her in action! We had a great day of classes, and when it was all done, we went to the Pewter Mug, where my father-in-law is working part time during his visit here in Florida with us! I am sure he heard things at the dinner table he didn't want to walk into! lol. It was a giggly night! Fun was had by all who attended.......I wonder if they put us out on the patio for a reason!?!?!!

Suzanne froze out on the lanai! Thankfully mom had her Thirty-One blanket in the car, to save the night...lol. It was shared at the dinner table by those who froze!

We had a great day of classes with Suzanne Dean. We had a sold out class for both sessions, and everyone loved learning new techniques!
This first picture that I share is the a.m. class!Suzanne was so great giving us a background on herself before she started! It was very interesting to me at what motivated her to start her Online Classroom! I also found it interesting to learn all of her hurdles that she had along the way! What a great start to the day!

The above photo is some one on one attention that Suzanne gave t EVERY SINGLE Student! She gave great instruction on how to color, and then made sure that everyone was able to ask questions, and she was there to show, and help!

We even had a visit from the Girl Scouts! Cookies were the refresher of the afternoon!

I will leave you with a few photos from the advanced course that was offered in the afternoon! This class was a little more intense, and was more detailed with reds, blacks, and shading! I would have to say it was a super LONG day, but very productive!

Just a Thought......

We have been very busy meeting with our reps these past few days! This means lots of NEW goodies are on the way!

One of our reps broght this article in that they had received, and rang so true to us here at Scrapbooks Etc. that I thought I would share it. I hope you enjoy. I really did!

Too Bad Everyone Deosn't Have to Own a Buisness at Some Point.

A local plant nursery near me just announced they were closing. It's too bad because the were the place you could get really cool plants for your yard- not just the standard stuff you can get at any big box store. They will be missed.

But, the article in the paper had a comment from the owner that made me have flashbacks to the scrapbook industry. The owner said that they were losing money because consumers were buying ther plants at the big box stores and then coming to this nursery for advice on planting and caring for them. The consumers knew the big box store employees didn't know what kind of fertilizer worked best for a Japanese Maple, but they knew that this independent nursery did. They dragged all thier plant issues and dying plants into the ursery for advice but left without spending a dime.
Shame on consumers. I really wish that peple would put themselves in the shoes of business owners. If you don't want to shop there and pay a little more for the local retailers fine products and experience, that's your choice. But, SHAME on you for buying "cheap" and then using the expertise of the independent for FREE. I have yet to run across a business who can exist by giving out free advice.
I can't tell you how many times this was an issue in the scrapbook industry-and probably still is. Consumers would come into thier LSS and demo every tool they could get thier hands on and then run to the big box store with a 40% off coupon and buy the one they wanted. Those same people then act shocked when thier LSS's started closing all over the country.

I have often said that a retail business is not a charity. They can't afford to give you free crop space, free advice, free demonstrations, etc. so you can go spend your money at a store that doesen't really offer any of that.

I know everyone is looking to save a buck these days, however, it's unfair to use a small retailer for information you know you can't get where you purchased your products. Coming in to ask advice for a $200.00 cutter you bought somewhere else and then feeling "justified" because you walked out with $7.00 in paper just isn't nice.
Put yourself in the shoes of that owner who has invested about everything they can give into thier Local Scrapbook Shop before you spend half an hour playing with thier tools with a 40% coupon in your purse.

Nathalie Métivier started in her childhood to draw and exhibit her work. With her sister Hélène and Daniel, her brother-in-law, she helped, 20 years ago, to create Magenta Rubber Stamps. One of her many tasks is to be part of the creative team. She drew many of the images as well as she invented the "direct-to-paper" and the “Ghost” coloring techniques. She appears several times on Carol Duvall Show as well as on Magenta's own videos. She is co-author with Leslie Conron Carola of the books Magenta Style Paper Magic and Magenta Style Paper Enchantments. Most of all, she likes to share ideas and techniques with others.

We are very excited to welcome Nathalie, owner of Magenta Rubber Stamps!
This will be our first time having Nathalie in the shop! Nathalie is a very known rubber stamper! She has been requested by many of you, so here we are bringing her to you, and we do so with excitement!

We are still working out class details with Nathalie, but assure you that her classes will fill up quickly. She has many different stamping techniques under her belt, and we plan to draw lots of traffic in from her.
She will be teaching 3 classes which will consit of 3 cards in each class. Each class will contain different techniques. Her samples should be in the shop soon, so you will be able to stop in and see her talent first hand and sign up for classes! Each class will be $35.00.

Suzanne has been using and teaching how to color with Copics for 3.5 years and she runs a successful Online Copic/Art Classroom called Color Me Creative!
For the past 1.5 years she has taken her classes on the road throughout the US and Canada!
She is also a freelance designer for many craft companies around the world and is co-owner of the craft magazine “Through the Craftroom Door”

We are very excited that Suzzanne will be offering two classes with us here on Saturday February 25th!

Beginner/Intermediate Class: 9am-2:30pm
You will learn how to get comfortable with the markers, learn light sourcing, shading and highlighting along with other practical techniques to bring your coloring to life!
5 hours for $90.00 (35 minute break)

*briefly learn about the basics of Copics and how they work/tips and tricks
*get comfortable with the markers and laying down color lightly
*Learn hwo to "f-l-i-c-k" layer/blend colors
*choosing successful color combos and layer colors
*learn about light sources and how to create dimension in your coloring

Advanced Class: 3:15pm-7:15pm
We go over a lot of fun but more difficult techniques- You MUST have experience using your markers and be ready for advanced techniques. If you take the Basic/Interm. Class you WILL be ready for this class! You must know the BASICS because I will not repeat those lessons in the Advanced Class!
We will learn all about advanced shading and coloring techniques and fun ways to use your Copics. Both classes are HANDS ON INSTRUCTION!
4 hours for $80,00 (35 minute break)

*advance hair coloring
*glassy objects, round objects
*feathering and background techniques
*coloring textured items
*metallics
*coloring folds, pleats, ruffles, with light sourcing

During the creative process, we will concentrate on techniques using Tim's new DISTRESS STAINS, creating some interactive elements plus some fun and unique stamping techniques.....Oh, and just wait untill you see how we re going to distress the denim!!

By the end of the class you will have a great chunky book brimming with techniques!
**Note** Please wear old clothes as we will be incorporating bleach in to some of the techniques!!

Take your creativity up a few notches with this little book that packs a punch with all of the techniques you will learn!

You will consturct this chubby little mini-book from a Tim Holtz Die but we will be focusing on an easy stitched book binding technique and working with Distress Stains in a variety of ways! Plus we will mix in some Idea-ology embellishments, Sticky Back Canvas, and my favorite Basic Grey Paper, Tim's Stamps from Stampers Anonymous, Texture Fades, Fabric, Stickles, and put it all together to make a fabulous little book ready for you to scrap or add your art journaling!

They say the best things come in small packages and this is NO exception....the ideas and techniques in this class will have your mind imaging all of the things you will be able to create next!!

**Note** Title and words in the charms are optional and you will have choices in class.

Busy, Busy Little Bees!

That we have been here at the shop! I have had the pleasure to be able to create hand in hand with one of our favorite vendors! Pam, at Heart of Texas Studio's has been amazing at working with me! I have had great amounts of fun designing these adorable mini albums for her! She is going to be showcasing them at the Collins Expo in Texas come October! I am super excited to have my work shown!

These are just a few of my creations using some of the new product lines by Heart of Texas along with the new halloween, christmas, and school papers that we have in stock here at the shop!

Copics, Color That’s Hot Hot Hot!
Heat up your projects with Copic coloring. This hands-on class will focus on basic blending techniques along with unraveling the secrets of the colorless blender marker. You will have plenty of time to play as you use these techniques to create 2 cards featuring stamped images from some of the most popular stamp companies around.
Class fee includes: Instruction, cardstock for blending practice, stamped images, complete supplies for creating the cards and access to sketch markers for the duration of the class.
Please bring: Basic class kit – cutting tool or scissors and adhesive of your choice. If you would like to bring your own markers, please make sure they are labeled with your name.
Class times will be:
10:30 am-12:30 pm Copics, Color, That's Hot Hot Hot 1
12:30-1:30- Book Signing (Free)
2:00pm-4:00pm- Copics, Color That's Hot Hot Hot 2

Class 1:

This class is geared toward the easy/intermediate techniques using your Copic Markers. In this class you will learn blasic blending in a large area, and the flicking technique. You will also color smaller areas using your black and red markers, which tend to be a little harder to use. In this class you will also work on some skin tones.

Reccomended markers are: R22, R24, NO, N2, N4, and N6. Y11, Y17,

Card 2: B21, B23, B26, G12, G14, G16, and YG11, YG13, YG17.

Class 2:

2:00pm-4:00pm

This class will be geared more for the intermediate/difficult coloring. In this class you will learn how to work with blending and coloring in a more difficult area. Each Card will be using blues, and also some red.

Card 1 Recommended colors:

E21, E93, B21, B23, B26, YG11, G12, G14, G16

Card 2: E21, E25, E27, R22, R24, R29, B21, B23, B26, Y11, Y15, Y17.

You will also be learning how to tone down your colors with your grays: N0, and N02

Class fee includes: Instruction, cardstock for blending practice, stamped images, complete supplies for creating the cards and access to sketch markers for the duration of the class.

Please bring: Basic class kit – cutting tool or scissors and adhesive of your choice. If you would like to bring your own markers, please make sure they are labeled with your name.

Class Fee will be $35.00 per class

It is required that you know basic's about your Copic Markers. A Copic 101 class is recommended in order to get the most out of Colleen's Classes!

Wow, I cannot believe we are already in the 4th day of the month, and My BIG birthday is tomorrow. 30. I know some of you say I am still a baby, (I am a heart) but I am really having a difficult time with this..... I'm not sure why, but I am.

As, mom and I were looking over the May Calendar in walked these beautiful roses this morning
I may not have the most romantic husband, but I sure do feel loved!

So, we just finished up our National Scrapbook Day Celebration last weekend at the Trianon here in Bonita Springs, it was beautiful! The croppers were great, we all got along, had a good time together, and ate lots of goodness!

We had such a great response to the 3 day crop that we have our next one planned for Friday August 12, 13, and 14th. We have the ball room reserved again at the Trianon. The Crop will be $100.00 and will include Dinner Friday Night, Dinner Saturday Night, and lunch on Sunday. Rooms will be available at the Trianon again for those who would like to stay there. We are now taking reservations, and can hold 40 people comfortably, we expect space to fill up quickly, so if you would like to guarantee yourself a spot, please call with a 50% deposit to hold your spot!

Congrats to you all for your hard work. 3rd place winners received a gift from Basic Grey, 2nd place winner received the entire winter releases from Basic Grey, and our WINNER Connie Minor, who designed her birdhouse as a wedding chapel, and the bride and groom being "owls" received a prize pack from Basic Grey, a BO Bunny Purse, AND is coming to our crop in August for FREE!

Your overwhelming GREAT response to the NSD 3 day crop is unbelievable! We were excited to announce the sold out event, BUT because we have a wait list that keeps growing we decided to open up Registration again! We will accept only 16 more people.

The event will now be held at the Trianon Hotel, in Bonita Springs, Fl. to hold all our croppers!

Join us Friday April 29th, Saturday April 30th, and Sunday May 1st 2011 for celebration of National Scrapbook Day!

We are happy to announce that National Scrapbook Day at Scrapbooks Etc is SOLD OUT. I hope if you were pondering the idea of coming, and scrapping with us, that you have committed! We will start a wait list in case someone has to cancel, but as it stands right now, our 20 spots have SOLD OUT (actually oversold) !

Scrapbooks Etc has the most fun during our National Scrapbook Day Celebrations! We are looking forward to fun event with our scrappers!

National Scrapbook Day Event! SAVE THE DATE

We just sent out March's Newsletter this week, and are over half way sold out on our National Scrapbook Day Event!

Make sure to save the dates of Friday April 29th, Saturday April 30th, and Sunday May 1st for the Celebration!

This weekend will be a non-stop filled weekend with all the scrapbooking that you can possibly fit in! We will start Friday night about 4pm and go through Sunday at about 3pm!

We are excited about the preperations, and can hardly wait to fill up with inspiration, goodies, games, fun, and food!

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Hump Day!

What a month, I can hardly believe it is almost over! Let's have a re-cap!

The BIG event of this month was that my grandpa block turned 80! Wow, Eighty! This is my moms dad.....We had a surprise party for him at my mom and dads house........ Now keep in mind, My mom is one of FIVE children! We surprised him by having all of his kids here! As, if that wasn't a big enough surprise, we had more in store for him! I am one of 14 grandchildren between my grandpa's 5 children. All of us were here....Except for one. THEN between us 14 grandchildren, we now have 14 GREAT Grandchildren. WOW, is my grandpa blessed or what?!?

So, Friday was his actual birthday. As we always do, we had breakfast at skillets to celebrate! I was totally excited, as I knew my one aunt that visits more often than the others was already here, and my grandpa didn't know that yet! So, when he saw them walk in I think he was surprised but, not shocked! THEN my cousin Cody, which I haven't seen in years, and years was already in town,(actually had gotten in about 6 am) and he had breakfast with us as well, now that was a SURPRISE! So, we went on with the morning and we then decided we should let the rest of the family, that cruised into town all throughout the day see him Friday night instead of Saturday, so we went to my uncle's house, and had pizza and wings, and slowly everyone just started appearing, I think he was overwhelmed with excitement to have us all together at one time! I know I was!

So, Saturday was the BIG day! My mom had invited several people that he used to work with at the Estero Post Office, and others that he hadn't seen in awhile. It was so nice to see everyone, and the glow in my grandpa's eyes. It was the best day ever!

Sunday was the Jen Starr Event here at the shop, and as usual it was a blast! We had a great turnout, with several people who learned a ton of new inking techniques including myself! It was a great day!

This week, has been a busy month end, with lots of classes, and daily specials here at the shop! We are excited about the new arrivals coming in very soon!

Well, I have let this blog, get a little behind on the happenings!

We had a huge success at our garage sale last week, and had some very happy individuals walk away with a great amount of money to be spending on new CHA arrivals! Yes, I did say CHA arrivals!

CHA ended on Monday, and from what news has been brought back to me it was a great success with lots of fun new releases! We have been busy here ordering, ordering, and ordering some more! We are expecting some of the new arrivals very soon!

We have ordered alot, and have a meeting this week to see more fun releases hands on! I am super excited to see what our great reps brought back for us from the tradeshow!

We have the new Bo Bunny releases in our hands, and have had them for some time now.....Stop in and give us your feedback! We have already ordered a few of the releases, and are excited to get the embellishments in stock so we can start creating! Stop in and check them out! We have also been busy looking, and buying more stamps for the shop! We are excited about a few of the new lines, we are bringing in! You will just have to stop by, and see the great images! Just perfect for coloring with those Copics!

Speaking of Copic.....did you know Copic released 12 NEW colors! Wow, how is that possible? I thought they had every color imaginable! We are excited to get these in! They have already been ordered!

Other, fun orders have been placed as well, I will update you as they start coming through the door! Look out for some fun new beach lines!

Also, Jen Starr will be here before we know it! If you haven't signed up yet, then you have no idea what you will be missing out on! Jen is a fabulous teacher, and full of technique. Well, it is that time of the year! CHA has come upon us! All of the designers and manufactures have started shipping thier samples/products to the tradeshow in California, which takes place this next week.

We have started receiving samples as well! We have new American Crafts Product in route to us, and we have new Bo Bunny Papers IN THE HOUSE! yes, Bo Bunny was kind enough to send us samples of the newest, greatest, and latest lines they will be releasing this next week! Garage Sale!

Hey Gang!
I have a ton of fun pictures to upload but seemed to have misplaced my camera! Well, It's just in that very important place, I wouldn't forget where it was! Ha! Well, I just wanted to send out a fun reminder to let you know that the Garage Sale Starts Monday! Yes, already this coming monday! We have several sellers, and are looking forward to the sale being very busy, because of this thing called "season" we have here in southern Florida!

This next week we also have POTM on Wednesday night, and Thursday Morning! We are down to the wire, this month and next month are our last two months for this "year" We will be starting another POTM program by Basic Grey as soon as we get the low down from them on the next set of classes! Looking forward to that!

CHA is also quickly approaching! CHA is the Craft and Hobby Association! This is the big tradeshow that takes place twice a year, and this is when most companies release their new products! We have been keeping an eye out on those sneaks, and have meetings lined up with our most favorite reps so we will be able to see the product hands on! (It always looks better in person than on the computer) I would think you'd agree!

I have already placed a few orders, and am looking forward to them shipping the first week of February! Stay tuned for those fun product updates!

Guest Designer Jen Starr Returns!

We are excited to let you know that Jen Starr will be returning to teach in February!

The first class Jen will be teaching is:

Ink Boot Camp

Class will Start at 10am-1pm

Cost: $50.00

This workshop is by far the best selling workshop that Jen has. It sells out everytime!
This workshop will give you a basic training on a variety of different types of inks and embossing powders. You'll learn what they are, what they do, and what surfaces they work best on, and how to choose the right ink for your projects!

Working mainly with Ranger prodect lines you'll explore teh differences between inks such as dye, pigment, alcohol, archival, distress, colorwash, and more! We will make a technique reference book with 6x6 mini-layouts/card fronts with instructions for each page, and type of inks used. This class will give you the knowledge to use inks properly and to their full potential

***Please bring to class: heat gun if you have one, variety of adhesives (wet and dry), acrylic block, scissors, pencil and paint brush! *****

Altered Journey Mini Album:

Class will start at 3pm-6pm
Cost: $50.00

If you love everything Tim Holtz then this class is for you! We'll be creating a 6x8 mini-book with a "journey" theme using some of Tim's greatest products including some of his dies and embossing folders from Sizzix, Idea-ology embellishments, stamps, and of course INKS! During your journey class, you'll learn some fun and unique techniques along the way to make this project one of a kind!

***Please bring a basic tool kit including a 12" trimmer, sanding block, ruler, Crop-O-Dile or hole puncher, scissors, pencil and a variety of adhesives (wet and dry).*****

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of you!

I hope your new years eve/day was great! I enjoyed my family and close friends so much! We enjoyed New Years Eve day, by running the kids till they were so sleepy they could barely hold their little eyeballs open! New Years eve my hubby and i were actually able to enjoy the other adults that were among us for some actual adult conversation! It was great!

We were able to start the New Year Day out with a fun buggy ride, and 4 wheeler rides in the woods of Bonita Springs, with family and friends again! It was a great weekend, and loved the company it was filled with.

What did you do New Years Eve/Day? I hope you were surrounded by your loved ones as well!

I have listed below some of the fun events that we are looking forward to in 2011. We have a few more monthly programs that we will be on the schedule every month for the next year, one of which will be my recipe swap/class this monthly class will be filled with good food, and a little scrappy goodness once a month! Yay for that!

Also, we are excited to announce our Lunch Hour "Special" that will be twice a month on Tuesday's. This fun event will be for you the working girl! Take a lunch break, come down to the shop, be crafty for a little bit, and have a bite of lunch to eat with us at the shop which we will have available for you each week. You will be calling us to see what's on the menu! Give us an hour and you will be out of here! Lunch, and a little scrapping inspiration! Wow, what a great way to start off a work week!

Tuesday January 4th- Copic Beginner Classes
Time: 6pm-8pm
Cost: $12.00
Have you been wondering all about Copic Markers? If you have let our talented and certified Copic Instructor Janet teach you all the secrets about copic! Not really, there aren't any secrets, but they are so much more fun to color with, and buy when you know more about them! Janet is the perfect instructor to show you how much fun these markers are! Once you have completed this basic class you will be eligble to join the Copic Club, which offers a discount on the markers!

Wednesday January 5th- Escape mini album, and layout!
Time: 11am-1pm
6pm-8pm
Cost: $25.00
This is a great kit put together by Quick Quotes. In this class we will create a mini canvas album, all while learning inking techniques, and we will then also create a 12x12 2-page layout as well. All from stuff inside the kit! You will get alot of product for the price of this class!

Tuesday January 11th- Lunch Hour "Special"
Time: 11am-2pm
Cost: $10.00
This mini class was designed for you the working girl. Stop in anytime between 11am-2pm for a light lunch, and a little time to be creative! This is our trial run of this new event this month. We hope to increase this to 2 times a month so, you will be able to get out of the office, and enjoy a little "you" time on your lunch hour!

Wednesday January 12th- Basic Grey Card of the Month
Time: 11am-1pm and 6pm-8pm
Cost: $25.00
Alot of you have shown interest in the Basic Grey Page of the Month Program, and were excited to hear that they offered a card of the month program as well. We have 11 spots available for this COTM Program (card of the month). Each month Basic Grey will use their newest released line of papers, and kit together a variety of cards (usually 12) for us to create. This program will meet every 2nd Wednesday of every month.This month we will be using the line "Curio"

Thursday January 13th- Recipe Swap
Time: 6pm-8pm
Cost: $12.00 Per month
This is a class that will require commitment! In this class we will meet every month for 12 months. We will create recipe dividers, and a "drawer" to keep them in. Each participant will bring a recipe for what we focusing on each month. This month we will be bringing in recipe's for SOUPS. I will go make my favorite "soup" recipe this month to start the club off, and each month one person will bring in her "favorite" recipe depending on which divider we cover that month. I am excited about this class, and look forward to getting a taste of what each of you make in your h7.00omes!

Friday January 14th- Midnight Crop

This is a night of fun. We always have fun cropping together!

This is how our garage sale works:
Seller: if you are ready to sell all you need to do is price your supplies with your initials, and the price you would like on your things, rent a table for us, half table is $5.00 and a whole table is $10.00. Drop your stuff off to us, and we will set it up, and man your supplies for you for the entire week! All you have to do is drop off, and pick up your left over supplies (hopefully there won't be any) and then we will give you a store gift certificate dollar for dollar of what you made!

Buyers: We are always happy to have buyers and so are the sellers in the garage sale! Stop in on some amazing deals that you will be sure that you won't want to miss! The sale will be open from 10am-5pm monday-friday, and 10am-3pm on saturday! Make sure you stop in for a bargain!

Mom and I wanted to take this time to thank all of our customers for a great 2010!

We have have been blessed by so many of you this year. We are 2 very lucky ladies to have a customer base that we have, and are very lucky to be able to share in each of your lives. The best part of our job is to be able to call each one of our customers our friends. We truly are blessed by your business and friendships!

Thanks to all of you. We hope you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, wherever you may be spending it!

We will be closed on Friday December 24th, and Saturday December 25th to celebrate the holiday weekend with our friends, and family.

We are excited about the next set of events starting here at Scrapbooks Etc on Saturday!

We have been busy creating this week 12 new projects for you! Each day Starting Saturday December 11th, we will be holding a "mini" make and take session here at the shop! Each day for the next 12 days we will be helping you create a simple project as a gift for a loved one, teacher, co-worker, or those silly white elephant exchanges that are so popular these days!

I will post each day here on our blog, what the next day's project will be! This coming Saturday we will start with a gift card holder. You will create a 3 pocket "mini" album that will hold up to 3 gift cards. This little project will be great for anyone on your christmas list!

Check out the photo below of the project. We will offer this project to you Saturday December 11th only from 11am-2pm. Stop in anytime it's convinent to you during the time frame and make this cute little gift for only. $5.00 each. Each project will include the package of cute snowman woolies!

Holiday Extravaganza Fun!

Last week we held our 1st annual Holiday Extravaganz here at the shop! It was a HUGE success!

I have heard nothing but positive feedback from the event! We definately went over our time limit on projects, but when you are having as much fun as we were creating, it all worked out!

We also enjoyed the fun with Michelle Granger. A Quick Quotes teacher! Michelle lives here in Orlando Florida, but has traveled with QQ all around the world teaching for them at huge conventions, and on the road events! We were very excited to welcome Michelle back into our store for the second time to teach an awesome 18x18 Family Canvas, just in time for holiday gift giving! Thanks Michelle for coming in and teaching for us, and signing our creative wall! We can't wait to have you back again!

Catching Up!

Wow,

Time flies when your having fun, and that we have had!

I don't think I have had time to update the blog since all the fun began! I have some fun pictures to share with you of our visit and classes that we had with Lance Anderson of Rusty Pickle!

Lance was an awesome teacher with tons of fun techniques! We had alot of fun in our small private setting classes, which were perfect because of the detailed technique in the classes! Thanks Lance for visiting our shop, and hanging with us!

These are some of the finished projects that I have here in the shop! Yes, if you missed out on the fun, it's ok! We do have just a few extra kits!

After the fun with the album creating, Lance did some AWESOME artwork on our wall! I was so excited to see him create in action!

Lance is very good friends with Jen Starr who we had a few months back, so Lance was so funny when he decided to create! He wanted to make sure his "artwork" stood out compared to Jen's! So here are the fun pictures he took with our wall just for Jen!

Jen I think the idea behind this is that your artwork is "little" compared to his!

But, Don't worry Jen, Your work is just as special to me as his is! LOL.

Holiday Extravaganza

Presented by Scrapbooks Etc and Creativity Boutique

Join us Saturday December 4th

at Scrapbooks Etc

We are excited to team up with Creativity Boutique for our fist ever Holiday Extravaganza. This event will inspire you to create, and make this Holiday Season one that won't be forgotten by family and friends.

As many of you may know we attended a trade show together a few months back and came home inspired with tons of new ideas for this gift giving holiday season. We are excited to be able to pair up and make our inspiration come to life for you.

This day will be filled with over 12 mini projects, and one huge class that will be taught by our special guest Michelle Granger from Quick Quotes. Michelle has been teaching for Quick Quotes all around the country and will will be teaching an 18x18 canvas.

Some of the mini classes will include: Ornament toppers by Outlines Stamp Company, Noel Home Decor Wall Hanging, Stamping/Flocking/Glitter using Stampendous Stamps, Holiday House Designed by Gerrianne Duke (she did the halloween house a few years back), 6x6 Canvas' using Copic and the Airbrush System, and SO much more. Lots of products are included in these mini classes.

This event will be limited to 20 people, and seats are selling fast. We now only have 8 spots left, so if you are interested get your name to us and your 50% deposit on the list quickly, before the space is GONE.

Guest Designer!

We are so excited to welcome Guest Designer Lance Anderson from Rusty Pickle!

Lance will be teaching 3 fun classes here on Saturday November 20th!

Class #1- Christmas Pop Up album

Time: 9am-12pm

Cost: $45.00

This album is so much fun to make, and really cute. You will make this ablum from scratch using chipboard, and you will get to create fun little pop ups throughout the book. You will make a pop up snowman, and a pop up Christmas tree, that will be decorated as well!
This book also holds to mini pages, inside which are attached with fun buttons.

We have samples in the shop so stop by and check them out.

Class #2- Rustic Journey Altered Tag Album

Time: 1pm-4pm

Cost: $45.00

This album will be made from scratch as well. As the title of the class says it doesn't have your ordinary pages inside they are made from envelopes! Yes, each page is made of envelopes, and has a fun little altered tags inside. This is a technique driven class, and can be used as a holder for altered tags, and used on your layouts, or can be used as "sample" book for all you ATC lovers. Get great ideas and tips from this mini album. Sample is in the shop.

Class #3- Tiki Hut Pop Up Album

Time: 4:30-7:00

Cost: $45.00

This album was a blast to make. I have the sample in the shop! It has a cute little tiki hut on the cover that pops up! Absolutely amazing details to the hut inside! This is a simple album compard to the other 2 classes tut is great for anyone, The Florida Beach Bums, Jimmy Buffett lovers, and the snow birds are sure to go crazy over this album. Stop in and check it out

All classes are limited to 12people, so make sure to stop in and check out the samples. Sign ups are starting to become full!

Remember only a 50% deposit is necessary, the balance can be paid the day of the class!

Projects come to life!

As, some of you know we were at a tradeshow in Orlando a few weeks ago, and boy did we have fun! We left on a Thursday evening, and traveled to Orlando, stopping along the way for dinner....We then woke up bright and early on Friday morning to start classes. We learned So much. I took class from Canvas Corp, My Little Yellow Bicycle, and Creative Imaginations. We had so much fun learning, and taking classes from some of the best educators in the business!

This first picture is of a banner that was made by the girls at Canvas Corp. They have a great new paper line that is on the way, and it takes ink really well, and has a great price point!

The second picture is my gorgeous mom in our Prima class, Friday evening. We completed a 4x6 Canvas album using some of the new paints by Ranger that are also on their way. The albums turned out awesome, are in the shop for you to take a look at! This class was great, and so was the instructor.

I will have to say my most exciting class was with Scrapbooking King TIM HOLTZ. Below is a picture of me and him.......I can tell you this. Tim is nothing like I ever would have imagined. He has a great personality, and is so down to earth. We had so much fun placing our order with him....Needless to say 6 vagabonds later, and every die he makes later, we are excited about all the Ranger Products coming into the shop! We are also expecting the Stampers Anonymous stamps in very soon to! Tim has alot of fun stuff coming up on his blog that he was telling us about, so be prepared, and make sure to stop in the shop to pick up all the fun supplies you will need to make those famous 12 tags of Christmas!

I also took a class from Outlines. A stamp company. These stamps are really cool! They were made to layer.....They also have ornament toppers, Peek a Boo Style stamps, and Jewelry! We will be having some classes coming up in the next month so be sure to check them out!

I will be back again with some more pictures of inspiration of all our fun projects! Stop in and check them out to!

Vacation Re-Cap!

So as most of you know, I was away for about a week and a half, and mom did a pretty good job holding down the fort. lol.

We went to visit my in-laws in MO. The boys always have a great time because Hayden's papa always takes him to go hunting, and boy does he LOVE that!

Here are a few photos of the hunting they did....Needless to say, they got one squirrel and one racoon. Hayden was SO excited!

He was so cute. Every time I asked him to take his picture with his little gun he always held it up in front of his eyes.

We did some fishing as well! Isn't this a beautiful view? I love going to visit. If you look close you can see the tint of the leaves starting to change! Fall was definitely in the air!!

The boys always have a great time feeding the ducks to!

So, Our vacation to Missouri was great! I will post again tomorrow about the Collins Rep Group Convention that we just finished up this past weekend as well. Whew......I'm almost caught up!

Jen Starr Re-Cap!

We so enjoyed having Jen Starr here at our shop a few weeks ago!

I thought I would take the time to share with all of you who missed the class just exactly all the fun you missed out on!

The first class that we did was a technique class using glimmer mist, Glaze, and Glam on all different types of surfaces. wood, metal, paper, and we even learned a photo transfer technique!

Life is a whirlwind!

I feel like it has been years since my last blog post!

I have been so busy! I have so much to share I don't know where to start! I shared with you the start of Hayden and school in my last blog post, and SO much has happened since then!

We have had Jen Starr in the shop since then, and I was away on vacation for the last week and a half, and then I turned around and came home for ONE night in my own bed, and then I was off again for a long weekend of fun in Orlando with my mom, and a sister store we work with for the Tim Collins Trade Show. I have to say the trade show was absolutely amazing, and we have brought back SO many ideas to share with all of you! We had a great time networking with some really great manufactures, and designers at this show!

I actually took my very first class with Tim Holtz which by the way was absolutely amazing, I never dreamed that this man would be so down to earth, he is nothing like I had imagined! I will definately be taking more of his classes in the future! We have lots of fun things in store using Ranger, and the Tim Holtz Products in the very near future! I am so excited to share! I will be posting pictures of all the fun projects that we have returned with from our tradeshow, and will be opening doors for many of you to go ahead and get started with gift giving ideas, cards, and lots of mini projects including home decor! Stay tuned for all the fun samples and ideas with these!

On the other hand, I am super excited to share some fun photos of our awesome Jen Starr event that we had about 2 weeks ago! I have had and heard nothing but fun and awesome feedback from the event! We will definately look into having Jen back again soon, possibly using all the fun new Ranger products that are on the way! Yes, for those of you who may have wondered we will be getting the Vagabond in stores BEFORE Christmas! We have a total of 6 machines coming, yes count them SIX. We will sell out of these quickly. After speaking with Tim one on one about these machines, and taking some feedback of his, and some of his great ideas with this machine, we will be selling these machines at an unbelievable price that you won't want to miss, I can promise you this. WE will have our machines in stock BEFORE Christmas, and I was guranteed that you WON'T see these machines in the big box chain stores till at least the middle of next year, which is ok, because they won't be able to touch or compare to the low price we will be selling these machines for! So, if you are interested in one of these fun electronic machines that cut chipboard, cardstock, acrylic, and metal, and SO much more! Stop in and get yours pre-ordered if you are interested!

And last but not least......I walked in this a.m. and PAGE MAPS 2 was here! Yes, we have this idea book in stock NOW. If you have not receieved the first one then you definately NEED this one. I love this idea book, and get such great ideas out of it! It is a must have idea book!

My Little School Boy.

This is a photo of Hayden's first day of school is one of my favorites. We were in such a hurry to get to school, that I had picked up a pair of clothes to put on Clayton before we walked "big" brother into school, and wouldn't you know that I walked out and forgot to grab them. Yes, this was just the start of my busy day!
I asked Hayden to go stand in front of this tree so I could get a picture of him, and next thing I know, Clayton was wiggling his way into the picture saying "cheese" "cheese". He was so cute!

Drop off for Hayden's first day went well. No tears for Hayden or mommy! I think having the boys home with a sitter all summer really did him well. It was a breeze all week! We are on vacation next week, so we will see how he does when we come back from visiting grammy, and papa.

This picture is of the little school boy before we left for school in front of our house. He was such a ham. I don't think he has been more excited than he was this day!
I do have to say as a mom, I am in love with this school already, even though it has only been 3 days. I love it. He is doing great, and learning alot to! LOVE IT!

On another note, away from my family. We are excited about Jen Starr's arrival tomorrow. We are full to the max for the two classes, and are expecting to have a great time! We are looking forward to it!

We are also expecting BO BUNNY on Monday. We will be open, BUT we will open late. Mom has to take me to the airport. She should be here by NOON. We need to be patient ladies and let her get it imputed into the computer so, please be patient, and take it easy on her! Monday is her birthday so be kind!!!!

And So have I!

I know several of you have been watching this blog daily for you favorite new lines to arrive, and I have promised you that I would update here A.S.A.P! So this is my time to let you know..........

Wow, It's really Friday already? This week has flown right by. Can you believe we are at the end of August already? Schools back in, and I'm sure you have been running like crazy with your munchkins! Hayden goes to Pre-K3 on Sept 7th, and I can hardly wait, and either can he! He just doesn't understand why he can't go now. I keep telling him that his teacher is getting his classroom ready, and he still doesn't understand why it is taking her SO long! Nevertheless, I am glad he is excited!

As for the shop we have been busy all week, and I am so sorry I haven't had time to blog. I have been busy entering product, and stocking it on the shelves!

Loyalty Counts!

I have been super busy around here marking product down, and entering new CHA arrivals into the computer here at the shop! Yes, everyday is like Christmas around here! We have a least one box to open everyday! Stop in and check out the new arrivals and some of the old stuff that keeps getting marked down!

So are you wondering what the title for this blog post means? I hope so! I hope I have your full attention! Many of you have been wanting to renew your customer loyalty programs, since they are beginning to expire, and I have kept you from doing so, because I have been thinking of a better way to serve you! So, I had a very good customer in here a few weeks back, and she and I were discussing how this program could benefit her more, and she threw a few ideas out to me, and I have thought about them to see if it would in fact be beneficial, and I think I have came up with a solution! So this is what I have done. I pulled up my top 50 customers, who have spent money in here since the beginning of the year, January.

So this is how our loyalty program will work from here on out. There will be four brackets of savings, and it is all determined on your loyalty to us, and how much you spend with us.....Costco has a similar program allowing money back at the end of the fiscal year. So here it goes, this is how it works.

Discount Chart:
The savings will start once you have spent $300.00 within the store each year.

Bronze: $300.00 up to $599.99 save 5% on all products
Silver: $600.00 up to $999.99 save 10% on all products
Gold: $1000.00 up to $1999.99 save 20% on all products
Loyal: $2000.00 and over. save 25% on all products

If you frequent our shop, and spend with us frequently then your savings will continue to grow. Our computer system takes care of this for us. We will pull a report each month, and only once a month, so your savings can be knocked up a percentage each month depending on your sales. The fun thing with this program is that you will be able to use these discounts with all products, classes, and monthly crops.

***The only thing that these discounts will not apply to is garage sales, guest designers/teachers that we may bring in, and 3 day weekend crop fees. We will also not accept the discount with gift certificate purchases of gift certificates.*** Page of the month students will not be able to use the discount on those specific class kits.

If you are a Copic Club member you will get the higher discount, not both.

As I was reciting them my form of payment, I about gasped when they told me the total, With that being said, I can let you know that we will have all 4 of our display cases filled to the max by the end of next week, along with some new airbrush machines, and a compressor for you serious addicts!

Adhesive is now back in stock as well. We have been told that there indeed has been issues with the glue glider high tac, and they sent us replacements that have been revamped, and have the new and improved cartridges in stock! along with refills for all you high tac lovers!

Whew.......what a busy day! I just finished up meeting with a rep, and boy am I excited to tell you all about the new stuff that will be arriving soon!

FIRST, I want to remind you about the garage sale that starts tomorrow! Yes, Tomorrow at 10am our garage sale will begin.....there is a boat load of good stuff in here! We have a TON of great bargains in here!

Sale will start at 10am tomorrow Thursday August 5th. We will end the sale on Saturday August 7th at 3pm.

I hope you will all stop in and shop these great bargains. There is anything from STAMPS, to papers!

I have to say I had a great weekend away with some wonderful croppin' buddies. I met a few new faces, and hung out with some old, and it was absolutely amazing!
We cropped, ate (alot), and laughed until we cried! I had an awesome time doing what I love to do, and actually do it for ME. I have to say I loved being able to stay up till 2am, and not get up till 10am. It was definately nice, and I'm pretty sure it is going to become addictive!
I have uploaded a few picts in this post to show you some of my accomplishements for the weekend. This first one is a few pictures of the banner I made with the new halloween line by Graphic 45 that we now have in stock, and in limited quantaties, so if you like, you better get in here quickly!This first photo shows you the end of the banner, on the "N" panel, I used a transparency behind my frame and used the Tim Holtz Masks and the Copic Airbrushing System. I love the effect that I got here! I hope you enjoy it!
This next panel shows the beginning of my banner. On these few panels I used The same paper line, but on the "H" I used the graphite Glimmer Mist, It gave the "H" a little sparkle....The "A" panel I used a scrap of cardboard from our shipments we have already begun to receive from CHA. I peeled away a little of the cardboard giving the corrugated look. and then again sprayed a little Glimmer Mist and decorated. Enjoy.
This next photo that you see is an idea I found amongst the blogs that I daily read. The idea I saw was making your own flowers which seems to be such a hot idea right now. In the idea I saw they used felt to make their flower. .....I was using this craft paper to make a layout for a friend of mine Gerrianne for her kit club using just plain ol' craft paper. I inked the craft paper to give it a little color, and then thought how convienent this burlap would be on this layout of me holding Clayton as a baby with just my jeans being in color and the rest of the picture being in black and white. The burlap was an awesome accent and in my opinion made the page. I cut the burlap into strips to make my flower. Take a look below and let me know what you think. I have this layout in the store, so if you want to see a closeup, stop by!Below is the complete layout. I think this was my favorite accomplishment of the weekend! Wednesday Inspiration!

Hi!

I have a little inspiration this afternoon for you! I hope you will find inspiring!
We helped a friend out at her benefit crop a few months ago, by being the store on sight! We had a ton of fun with her, and all the ladies that attended the crop! She had given as their goody bags the 7 gypsies photo trays. It was a great idea, and seemed to be enjoyed by all. We had a few done at the crop for ideas, and we have had several request to get them back in stock by you our customers, so we have had them here, and are having a great time with them ourselves.......I have a few to show you for a little inspiration if you haven't gotten to yours yet, or if you are on the look out for one we have them in black and white!

This a black one that my mom did with the very popular Mamarazzi line by Bo Bunny! If you look really carefully you can see that she actually used a real film strip from some old film she had laying around. It turned out really cute! Take a look, and enjoy!

This next one is another creation of mom's! This is the white photo tray that we have in stock! In this one she scrapped her trip to Alaska, that she took several years ago! She used the new Pack your Bags line of papers by My Little Yellow Bicycle, that is flying out our door. This line of paper is so nice because it is versatile colors that anyone can use for just about any trip that you are wanting to preserve!

This next photo is of the 7 gypsies receipt holders. This was a creation of mine. I designed this by playing around with some my grandmas old pictures. With her just passing recently in April it was a little hard but was also and accomplishment as well. We sold out of these as soon as my sample was done. What a compliment! Also, make sure you visit the 7 gypsies blog to see all their fun new releases as well! Check out the new drawers from them! I gotta have them, so look out for those when they get here! I will spread the word when we get them in!

Since I just got the August Newsletter out yesterday, I thought that I would go ahead and expand the chance for you to win one of the 2 new Bo Bunny Lines of papers! Guest Designer Update!

Today I started my work day by reading our guest designer Jen Starr's updated blog (im so proud of you Jen! :) She is a hoot. You all need to go there and catch up on her adventures! She has had some fun traveling recently to Canada, and other areas, and has some great stories to tell about them! check out her blog www.jenstarr.typepad.com You will fine some giggles there as you read along with her "moose adventure" and her "tick" adventure. So as mom and I were talking this am about some other orders that we must place, guess what: My phone rings, and I guess you cannot even believe who it is........It was Jen. We have had a lovely long conversation about all that we have in store for you and her classes she is teaching here at the shop on September 12th. Jen I am super excited about you coming in September, we are going to have SO much fun, and we will also have an adventure you will NEVER forget! See you soon!

To all my wonderful customers that follow this blog, you to will have so much fun with Jen! She is going to be teaching lots of fun new techniques using Glimmer Mist, Glam, and Glaze! We will be offering TWO separate classes. The first class will strictly be technique. Jen has been using this product ever since it came out, and has a ton of different techniques to show you with these 3 products. You will be practicing these techniques on the Tattered Angels Chip Tiles, and will be able to write down the different techniques on the back of it so you won't forget how you did it! The second class is a class that she has designed strictly for Scrapbooks Etc. This will be the first time this class will be taught! In the second class you will complete the gate album by Tattered Angels and you will then again in that book receive all the products you will need to glaze, glam, and mist the pages, chipboard, glass, and you will also use the stamps, and screens in this class. From what Jen tells me this class is LOADED with supplies! In this album you will be using all the awesome products from the TA Seaside Collection!

We are expecting our Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze and Mist this week! Yea, I'm so excited!

FREE Make and Take Saturday

That's right here we go again! Tomorrow is Saturday and its time for more FREE make and takes! You guys have been awesome with your turn outs on Saturdays! I'm thinking you really like coming in on Saturdays and learning new techniques! I'm SO glad.

Last week we sold out of our glitter pen sets, and today has been very busy with our Copic Sale. Don't worry ladies our stand that holds 344 colors of Copic Markers is about to be re-filled. We are expecting our shipment any day! Yes, ladies I have ordered more glitter pens to! I will make sure that I update you here when we receive our order so you can stop in and stock up! If you haven't joined our Copic Club, and are addicted to these pens like we are then you really need to think about it! All Copic Club Members receive discounts on all Copic Merchandise. WOW. What a way to save. We are also sold out of our airbrushing systems but have more on the way! Don't worry. We will be all stocked back up soon! Thank you for the prayers

I want to thank all of you for your postive thoughts and prayers. Clayton had his surgery this am at 7:30 and did great! They were done by 8:30 and we got to see him shortly after.

He did have to have a skin graph, and they did cast his leg.

He ended up getting a camo cast as you can see! I just love this little guy!

He seems to be doing great at this point! Thanks Again for everything!

Simply Sweet

This a simple layout that I created last night while waiting for my students to arrive here at the shop for their flower soft class.

This is a simple sketch that I took and incorporated it into my own layout. This is Clayton as a baby he is probably only about 8 weeks old here. My cousin Stacie took this awesome photo for me when she had her photography business up and running. It is a great photo.

I used the Basic Grey "Basics" line pattern paper as my background and some Basic Grey Chipboard letters in this layout and then everything else was from some of my old My Minds Eye papers and embellishments that I had in my stash that I told you earlier this week that I was cleaning out! It was very fun playing with circles on this layout. Something I don't do very often is use shapes, as most of you know I am usually a very straight line scrapbooker! I even hand stitched around some of the circles. This is a technique that I picked up from Kelly Goree from Basic Grey, as she does this very often when she designs for their POTM program! Paper Flowers are something else I have been experimenting with alot lately they are easy to do! We will be having a FREE make and take using paper flower techniques coming up soon! Stay tuned to the blog for those details!

I am wore out!

I'v been going through all my scrap stuff this week because mom and I and a few girlfriends of ours are going to a crop out of town at the end of the month, and I needed to get myself organized. I found some OLD stuff! Stuff im never gonna use! So, I will be putting it in the garage sale that we are having at the beginning of August! Which brings me to remind you that if you want a space to sell you need to call me ASAP. Space is filling! We have alot of sellers, and I am super excited! Half Table only cost $5.00 and a whole table is $10.00. Call me to reserve your spot! If you don't have anything to sell in the garage sale then be sure to shop it on August 5th, 6th, and 7th, its going to be loaded with LOTS of stuff!

As you may remember awhile back I was telling you about the surgery that the little guy is going to have to have on his right heel because of that birthmark that so defines HIM. I could pick my child out of a crowd of 10 million people tomorrow if I needed to because of that mark. Isn't it great to have a signature point on you loved ones like that? I love it about him. Well, we went and saw another specialist about this on Monday, and they told me that I should have it removed in case it becomes cancerious, although at this point they don't think it is anything to be worried about, so I am in the works of setting up an operation for him to have this removed. The two specialist agree that it needs to be sking graphed and that it needs to be casted after the surgery so that he doesn't use his foot as much and it will have time to heal. ughhh. Oh the joys of KIDS! I wouldn't trade them for the world! I love my boys!

So, you probably remember me mentioning last week that my mom is going to be out of town this week, and I promised a sale! Yes, a sale! I love when she leaves town so we can just tear this shop apart and put what we want on sale! Well, today I will be slashing prices on merchandise to prepare myself for our new CHA arrivals that I am starting to expect soon. I will be marking merchandise from 30%, 50%, and even 75% off of thier regular prices. I need to move out this inventory so that we have room for more, more, MORE! Bring on CHA, and all that they have to share with us! Stay tuned to this blog for more information on when that sale will start and end, yes, all good things must come to an end!

If you aren't signed up for Friday nights crop then you better get to it because it is filling, and we only have a few spots left! Well, I have been searching the web this am at some of the newest sneak peaks for CHA out there, and well....I think we are in trouble ladies. I have my eye on a few different lines, and well.....that's all I'm going to say about that..... Stay tuned for the details in your emails!

Yes, mom leaves on Saturday (tomorrow) to go check out the oil spill, and see my uncle and close friends of the family that are there helping out during this horrible disaster, so that leaves me to believe that a sale is in store for you ladies next week! Hmmm I will get my thinkin' caps on!

Hey I wanted to let you know that Saturday's FREE make and takes were a hit! Thanks to all of you who came out and did them with us! Mom said the shop was super busy! Don't forget we are doing that every Saturday in July! I will post later in the week what is up our sleeve for this weeks make and take!

Our weekend was super busy! Friday night mom and I enjoyed cropping with a few friends here at the shop! It was super fun, and I think all of us enjoyed ourselves! I got to play with the Donna Downey Canvas Bag, and apron! I airbrushed the bag using the Copic Marker System, and I did some free hand painting on my apron, glimmer mist, and more Copics of course. It turned out WAY cute. I love it! Thanks Gerri for bringing one for me, and thanks Sally Lynn MacDonald for the inspiration!

Saturday, Well.....I slept in because I didn't climb into bed till about 1 am. becuase of the fun I was having here at the shop working on a project for ME. My husband was a great sport about letting me sleep in so that was nice! We then got the kids out of the house for a little bit, and Hayden was adament about buying fireworks. I really hate buying fireworks because it's basically burning your money.....But my little guy wanted them so, I gave him and his dad a budget, and they went wild with fireworks, we then met up with some friends in a church parking lot in San Carlos Park and watched the Miromar Fireworks from there.....it was fun, kids had plenty of room to run, and we didn't have to worry about fighting that traffic on the way home! Sunday we got up went to church, and then went to some good friends of ours house for a BBQ and fireworks! That was alot of fun, and Hayden informed us that he wanted to do that again next time!

So, we had a really fun weekend, and a safe one to. I hope you all had a great weekend as well.

Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to take a minute and Thank everyone for the prayers and well wishes.
My husband is doing great after his herina surgery yesterday. Of course pain meds help alot!! Now the hard part will be keeping him from doing much of anything for 4 weeks. I think we are going to try and fit in a little vacation so that will help! My brother and a close friend are in Mississippi helping with the oil mess up there, so we are going to stop by and say Hi to them, who knows where we will end up after that! I will be in the store all next week,stop in and say hello and check out all the sales we have going on!

We went over to the Sawgrass Mills Mall and hit Wannado City with the boys! Wow, that was tons of fun! I had a blast, I bet you can only imagine the fun that Hayden had!

Well, I hope your monday is going better than mine!

One: My dad is having surgery for his hernia today. Supposedly its not that bad but its the recovery time that will make it hard. He will be down for at least 4 weeks and those of you who know my dad.....that will be difficult! So, your prayers are greatly appreciated while he is currently in surgery, and also for his time of recovery.

Two: Clayton (the little guy) had a dermatoligist appointment this morning for the birth mark on his right heel. It has been there ever since he was born. We had it looked at while he was still in his first year of life, and all was good. My peditrician has been keeping an eye on it, and it has started to perform some irregularities in its growth so she was worried about it, and sent us back for a follow up. We went this am and the dermatoligist was AWESOME. LOVED him. Although he gave me BAD news and said that we needed to think about having it removed. So, as a normal momma would do, I'm a little uptight this am wiht this news. It is bothering me very much. The dermatoligist also told me that he is only like the 3rd child he has ever sent to have a surgeon look at it since he's been in practice. Makes me sad. He said he thinks it will be benign but, wants to make sure......So, Today I am off to schedule a consultation about this and hopefully plan a surgery.
Prayers please that all goes well, and that in the end it will only be benign.

Three: My kids are driving me CRAZY. They were absolutely horrible this am at the dermatologist. Hayden was punished with spankins which doesn't happen very often. They say that things are bad during the "terrible two's" I think "horrible threes" are just as bad. LOL.

Off to try to be creative this am with some of our new arrivals we received last week! Looking forward to what UPS and Fed Ex may be bringing this week!

Thought for the day....

As, I was drivig to work this morning for some strange reason my family heritage came to mind. My grandpa Block, a loving, supporting man, that has influenced my life abundantly will be turning 80 this coming February. WOW. yes, I said 80. It blows my mind that he will be turning this age. It seems like just yesterday, that my grandpa, my uncle Doug, and my mom were sitting there in those bleachers at Estero High School cheering me on as I ran up and down that basketball court scoring points for my team. As, I sit here typing, sharing this "family" story with you It still amazes me that this has been over 10 years ago. Where does the time go? It flys right by, as does our heritage. It slips between our everyday life, and before you know it, those that could tell you about your heritage, and those deceased before you, may just be to "old" to tell you.

It amazes me that in a blink of an eye your heritage sits right in front of you. Hours, days and then years later it seems to be what makes me want to get up and go to work every morning so that I can start preserving these cherished memories of my own for my kids and some day my grand kids who will be like me wanting to know more. This seems to consume me. It is now my everyday priority. Knowing that my grandfather is about to turn a milestone of an age 80, it is extremely important to me to start documenting these past times and stories of their childhood while him and his siblings are still alive and healthy, and still have half a mind of their own still.

After just losing my grandmother (my dads mom) of 94 years of age, and knowing how she went from being a healthy lady, to quickly deteriating into old age, althziemers, and just plain miserable, it makes me even more persistent in documenting both sides of my family. As, I write this and shed a few tears with you, I was lucky enough durning my time of mourning at my grandmothers funeral, Her youngest sister still in her 80's was able to help me out with a few names, and documenting a few people from pictures that were my grandmothers. That was a heaven send. I now have some type of path to follow, and she was also kind enough to leave me with a family tree that she had came up with.

So, as this day goes on, and I get more and more info of my grandfathers past (my moms dad) I will continue to cherish every moment of stories he may have to share with me, and you better believe I will be documenting them all!

With all of this being said, I challenge you to take a moment, and look back into your childhood heritage. Document ONE memory of your past this week for your children, grand-children, or someone that may be special in your life. Because I gurantee that someday, someone in your life will be as interested in your past as I am in my families.

I have made a self-commitment myself,and that is to start documenting "silly" things in my life that my children may see change in my town of birth, childhood, and adult life. For instance, the hospital I was born in, compared to where they were born in the same town. Difference is: There was only ONE hospital in Naples when I was born, Not 3......

This is my challenge to you! Have fun,and please share them with me, I would love to know a little heritage about you too....!

I was just catching up on some of my favorite blogs, and saw that Renee Dorrian, a regular customer of ours, and a Basic Grey POTM student entered into a drawling on Kelly Goree's Blog from Basic Grey and was a WINNER! Busy Week Ahead!

Wow, Where did last week fly by? It's definately been a busy one!

We are back to the grind now! We have so much to do before National Scrapbook Day, Jenn Starr, and just the normal classes, and SALES at the shop!

A few reminders!

This Wednesday is the Mamarazzi mini album class from 11-1 and 6-8. I only have one spot left so if you want to sign up you better get to it!

Jenn Starr- We have started taking sign ups! It will be $100.00 for the 2 classes, and if you want lunch from Panera it will be $10.00 extra! Look for our email to see the class discriptions on what we are doing, and the NEW products we will be using!

National Scrapbook Day is coming up quickly- We have themed it The Amazing Race- So, if you haven't signed up then you need to! This year we have received more donations and Great donations at that, than we ever have, so you won't want to miss this fun time of scrapping with a great crowd of women. Looking for closure:

Some may know and some may not, but in my previous post I requested prayers for my grandma of 94 years of age who was hospitalized after a fall. For those of you who prayed for our family Thank You.

My grandma did end up passing away on Friday April 9th, at 9:45 am. It has been a hard weekend, but a beautiful one at that. My grandma is now home with the Lord, where she has been wanting to be for several years now. She had a hard life as a mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a very hard worker.

As, the days go by I'm sure my closure of her passing will get easier, but I will still grieve as she was so loving, and supportive of me. I will also grieve for my father, for she is all he has had for the past 40 years of his life.

Grandma, you were truly loved by many, and will also be missed by many. I love you.

Thank you all for you loving support. My mom and I truly do appreciate it.

Prayers Please!

Yes, My family needs your prayers please!

My 94 year old grandmother fell and broke her arm in 3 different places on Easter Sunday. She is now at North Collier. My family faces the difficult descision: do we put her under and have the arm surgically fixed, or let it heal on its own?

With my father being an only child, this makes a tuff decison for him. He lost his father at a young age. (he was only in 7th grade) and has had his mom as his major influence his entire life. She did not re-marry, and has been an independent person all her life.

Being in a hospital bed not able to move her arm is really making it difficult on her. Not only does she have this broken arm but deminsia is very bad, and has other health issues, such as her heart which make this battle even more difficult.

I know that my grandma is a peace with God, and is just ready to go home to Him. My dad on the other hand is NOT religious and views death differently than I do or any Christian that knows that heaven is where you want to be.

Not only do I ask you for your prayers of comfort for her at this time, but also for prayers for my dad, that he may have a comfort over him to make the right decisions, and peace of comfort that she is going to be in a better place. I can only pray that he may get to know the Savior that I know during this difficult time!

Tattered Angels Guest Desinger is Coming!

That's right! Tattered Angels endorsed instructor Jenn Starr is coming! Jenn Starr will be here on Sunday May 23rd!

This is a little about her!

Jenn Starr is a fully Certified and Ranger Recognized Instructor. She was 2007-2008 Design Coordinator for Ranger Industries and continues to teach and do private design work for them. She has had several signature product lines with Zsaige and is an endorsed instructor for Prima Marketing as well as Tattered Angels. Jen's projects have been featured in several publications in the US and Europe including the "Ink Essentials" book.

Jen has been scrapbooking since she married her wonderful husband, Mike, in 1997. They live in Northern New Jersey and have 2 children (8year old Ryan and 6 year old Maya) who are usually the main subject of most of her work.

Based on Jen's fine art background, her classes as well as her personal work focus on artisitic techniques and are alive with color! She has taught scrapbooking and stamping technique classes at stores as well as crops and large events all over the US and regularly in Europe and Canada. She has also been a feature instructore on several crafting crusies and taught at events such as Memories Expos, Scrapbook Expo, CKU, CHA, CKC, Bonanza in England, several times at Scrap-A-Ganza in the Netherlands and at the ScrapEvent in Sweeden. Jen also regualarly demos inking and stamping techniques at trade shows such as CHA, SMAC in Paris, Krea Vak in Holland and various Distributor events.

She loves to bring her scrapbooks out of the albums and up on the walls to live with more openly every day. Most importantly, she loves the versatility stamps bring to her work....the creative options have endless possibilities, especially when adding inks and paints!

Jen absolutely loves to teach her students to use theri creativity and help them think outside the box. It makes her so happy to be able to share her skills, kowledge and love of the art of scrapbooking and stamping with so many others!

Great Class Last Night!

Open House

Save the date for Saturday March 13th for our Grand Opening Open House!

Yes, our entire plaza is new and we along witht the other tennants are planning the best open house event in Bonita!

We will all have our doors open, and snacks for everyone to come in and enjoy and check out what we are all about!

Scrapbooks Etc is sponsoring the Bonita Springs Fire Control and Bonita Spirings police department in the event.

That's right, we will have a fire truck here, and a police deputy and car for your children to climb in and out of, and ask all the questions they may have for our local emergency departments!

Scrapbooks Etc will also be helping the emergency staff by handing out fire helmets, and police badges for all the little guys, and girls that visit our store! Stop in the shop, and grab one for you little ones! The fire department will also have their bunker gear here for the little ones to climb in and out of! What a picture moment for mom!

As for the adults we will be offering make and takes, and specials for all the moms! We will have special deals with purchases, and special discounts to!
